This month the orders have been flooding in, and it has struck me again how people use flowers to express something that words simply cannot. Birthdays, weddings, funerals, and simply "I'm thinking of you": these life-changing moments all find their way into the flowers I grow and arrange here on the Isle of Wight. This month's standout was a lovely mother wanting to wish her son and his wife all the best in their move to the Isle of Wight. It was a big move for everyone involved and had, by all accounts, been an emotional one. The sentiment behind the order resonated with me deeply, since my own move to the island several years ago was just as life-changing. We chatted about the order, and I hope I offered some reassurance from my own experience. I'd love to connect with her again when she visits, and it was a lovely reminder of the trust people place in me with the messages that matter most to them.

Funeral commissions are always deeply emotional, and having taken on several very different requests this month, I've been reminded how important they are for that final farewell to a loved one.

Whatever the occasion, I've learned that flowers send the same message: love. I grow the flowers myself, here on the farm, and arrange them in a natural, relaxed style that reflects each client's wishes. I've even been given a room's colour scheme as inspiration for one order. Grown locally and arranged with intention, the flowers do the talking.
