Spend a Creative Day on a Flower Farm, Whatever the Weather
Clamerkin Wild’s new studio space, Isle of Wight Flower Farm, creative days whatever the weather.
Have you ever wondered how to make a hand-tied bouquet? Paint a watercolour? Make a cyanotype print? Write using nature as your inspiration? Or just how to grow flowers yourself?
After years of exploring flowers through growing and creating, we have embarked on a new journey to bring a studio space to the Isle of Wight offering workshops centred around flowers and nature, whatever the weather.
Having turned our field into a flower growing area, the adjoining stables was calling out to be put back into productive use. I needed somewhere to store my dried flowers and create my bouquets and wedding orders. The stables offered us the perfect space and location adjoining the field with everything to hand.
We now have a wonderful hub for all things flowery and I can't wait to extend our workshop programme to find something for everyone. As you enter, the smell of the dried flowers is reminiscent of the original stable area and when I have freshly picked flowers it transforms itself instantly into a florist's studio.
Natural light and worktop-height areas are perfect for wreath and bouquet making. There is a hanging area for you to step back and admire your wreaths, and help will always be at hand with photography tips to record your creations.
From the Studio, to the Flower Fields…
Of course, when the sun is shining, on the north coast of the Isle of Wight it often is, the whole experience extends beyond the studio walls.
Clamerkin Wild sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and the farm draws from cultivated growing beds as well as surrounding meadows and woodlands. When the weather is kind we can be amongst the flowers in the field, of course. Either way, everything you work with in the studio has been grown a few metres away, and you can feel that.
Clamerkin Wild is a proud member of Flowers from the Farm, a nationwide network of independent British growers championing seasonal and sustainable flowers.
Creative Workshops for All Abilities
All materials are included in each workshop and are planned around complete beginners to experienced participants. Groups are kept small in numbers to enable everyone to feel supported appropriately. You will only need your own creativity and willingness to give things a go!
The workshop programme changes with the seasons. Keep an eye on the workshop page to see what is coming up and book on to avoid disappointment.
